Municipal Departments
The Municipality of North Grenville is comprised of the following Departments:
The ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT is responsible for:
- All Departments within the Municipality and day to day operations.
- Implementation of policies and procedures as set by Council resolution or by-law
- Record minutes of Council and Committee meetings
- Ensure Council's decisions are communicated to all interested parties
- Prepare and keep all Bylaws and Resolutions which are passed by Council
- Act as the Local Registrar for all births and deaths
- Act as Returning Officer for the Municipal Elections
- Responsible for Statutory Duties under the Municipal Act, Line Fences Act, Drainage Act, Planning Act, Emergency Measures Act and other Statutes of Ontario
- Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Coordinator
- Issuer of Marriage Licenses and Lottery Licenses
- Issuer of Burning Permits and Dog Licenses
The PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT is responsible for:
- Roads, Bridges & sidewalks
- Waste & Recycling
- Water and Waste Water
The PARKS, RECREATION & CULTURE DEPARTMENT is responsible for:
- Parks & Facilities
- Recreation Programs
- Advertising & Sponsorship
The TREASURY DEPARTMENT is responsible for:
- All financial matters of the Municipality
- Budgeting
- Taxes
- Water/sewer billing and collection
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Payroll
The PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT is responsible for:
- Official Plan, Zoning, Plans of Subdivision, Consents to Sever Land, Site Plan Control, Committee of Adjustment and other land use planning related matters
- Building Permits, Inspections
- Economic Development
- By-Law Enforcement
- Animal Control
- Heritage
The NORTH GRENVILLE FIRE SERVICE is responsible for:
- Fire protection
- Fire prevention
- Fire safety education
