Recycling Collection & FAQs
The Municipality of North Grenville provides curb side pick-up for household recycling throughout the Municipality. Click here to view the Municipal Waste Recycling Plan.
Where can I get a blue box?
A blue box must be used for recycling collection. Various sizes can be purchased at the Municipal Office (285 County Road 44), the Oxford Mills Waste Transfer Station and local hardware stores.
What happens to the items in your blue box?
North Grenville’s recyclables are sent to Cascades Recovery Inc. in Ottawa for processing. From there the materials are re-marketed to produce new materials. For more information please visit www.recoverycascades.com.
Where and when are the recyclables collected?
North Grenville is divided into 5 zones for pick up. As per By-law 10-09, items for collection must be placed close (max 10ft) from the edge of the road between 7pm the night before and 7am the day of collection. Items are picked up each week on a two week rotation schedule: fibre products one week and containers and plastics on the alternate week. The more you recycle the less solid waste you will produce, reducing your bag tag costs and the tonnage of garbage that leaves the community. For more information, to determine your pickup day, or to determine whether it is fibre or containers week, see the Solid Waste and Recycling Guide and Maps.
