Regular meetings of the Board are held at 1:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the Municipal Centre. The meeting dates are published in the Calendar of Events and in the local newspapers.
The Board does not usually meet in July or August, however, it can convene should circumstances require it.
Speaking At Board Meetings
The Board cannot do its job without knowing the needs, concerns and priorities of the community. It gathers that kind of input through several mechanisms, one of which is through hearing delegations at Board meetings. We want to continually improve police services in our Municipality and to do that, we need you to share your concerns or innovative ideas.
Even better, get involved in crime prevention programs in your own neighbourhood; information on how to get involved is available on the OPP website.
The Board entertains public delegations at the regular monthly meetings. As these are business meetings, each delegation is restricted to five minutes, not including any questions the Board members may wish to ask following the presentation.
Requests should be made at least one week before the meeting date and you are encouraged to submit your concerns in writing so they can be distributed to the Board members in advance of the meeting. This allows Board members to come to the meeting better prepared to discuss your concerns. If you would rather not appear before the Board you may submit the comments in writing.
If you are interested in speaking to the Board, please contact Secretary/Treasurer Cahl Pominville by email or phone at 613-258-9569 ext. 110.
Please note that individual complaints against police officers are not considered at Board meetings as there is a legislated public complaints process to deal with such matters that must be followed and the Board must not interfere in that process. See the information on how to utilize the complaints process.
