Presentation of North Grenville Annual Service Excellence Award

North Grenville Council and Acting CAO, Karen Dunlop presented the Annual Service Excellence Award to Cahl Pominville, Director of Corporate Services/Clerk. Mr. Pominville is one of the longest serving employee of the Municipality of North Grenville. His dedication is not only to his municipal responsibilities but also to his community of North Grenville where he was born and raised. This award was created as part of the LEAN Project to recognize a member of staff who goes above and beyond to provide excellent service to both the public and the Corporation. Although Cahl announced his retirement for November 2019, he has offered to stay longer to support the transition of hiring a new Clerk.

North Grenville Curling Club – New Electrical Panel

Council approved $12,000 be transferred from the Curling Club Capital Reserve Account to the North Grenville Curling Club Executive for the installation of a new Motor Control Electrical Panel for the Curling Club’s refrigeration system. The Curling Club Executive’s 2019 annual contribution of $10,000 to the Capital Reserve Account be withheld to be used to contribute to the payment for the installation of the electrical panel.

Development Charges By-Law

Council re-passed the Development Charges By-Law (No. 104-19) that was originally passed on September 5, 2019. Due to a technical oversight the 20 day notice was not posted. Most of the developers have been contacted and 92% of the funds have been secured. The Municipality will be contacting the remaining developers this week.

Rideau-Sanders-Prescott CIP Façade, Landscape & Signage Grant Program

Council approved the 2019 Rideau-Sanders-Prescott Community Improvement Program (CIP) - Façade, Landscape & Signage Grant Program as recommended by the Community and Economic Development Advisory Committee (CEDAC), which accepted 14 applications for a total amount of $47,137.24.

Upcoming Budget Meeting Dates: Community Budget Requests presentations to Council November 26 at 2:30 pm and November 27 at 6:30 pm. Meetings will be held in the Urbandale Arts Centre at the Municipal Centre, 285 County Rd 44, Kemptville, and live-streamed via the website www.northgrenville.ca.

Daytime Committee of the Whole Meeting Dates: December 11. All meetings begin at 2:30 pm in Meeting Room 1 (2nd Floor) at the North Grenville Municipal Centre (285 County Road 44, Kemptville). Agendas available at www.northgrenville.ca. Council expects the meetings to be live-streamed and archived as of January 2020.
