The Forum is intended to respond to the growing concern about children’s mental health as a result of the pandemic and ongoing disruptions to regular routines.
The event is free, and will be held via ZOOM on Thursday, April 22 at 7:00 – 8:30 pm.
“With the recent announcement that schools will be shut down and reverting to virtual learning (only) and given the severity of the third wave in Ontario, we are hearing from many parents and care-givers who are quite concerned about the mental health of their kids, and families generally,” said Mayor Nancy Peckford.
“This Community Mental Health Forum will feature seasoned mental health professionals and advocates from well-respected organizations who will share their expertise working with school-aged kids in these pandemic times. We also hope it can help address the anxiety that countless parents and care-givers are currently feeling,” added Mayor Peckford.
