North Grenville Recognizes National Police Week 2021

May 12, 2021

NORTH GRENVILLE, ON - North Grenville’s Municipal Council would like to take this opportunity to thank our local Grenville OPP Detachment, including all the men and women officers, as well as crucial support staff, for their hard and tireless work to keep our community safe, particularly during these unprecedented times.

National Police Week is a celebration of the work our frontline police officers, 9-1-1 dispatchers, civilian staff and other policing staff, and the important role they play in our community.

“It has been a difficult year, and the OPP in our community have confronted new and complex pressures when it comes to enforcement. We thank them for their professionalism, their adaptability and their commitment to keeping North Grenville safe,” Mayor Peckford noted.

Public safety involves a collaborative effort between police services, first responders, the municipality, as well as social and community organizations.

On behalf of the Police Services Board, “I want to extend our appreciation for everything they do to keep North Grenville residents and businesses safe and secure, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Chair and Councillor John Barclay.

Policing in Canada is dependent on the trust, accountability, and support of the community.

The provincial theme for 2021 is “Working together to keep our communities safe,” which aptly describes the many ways our police members help promote the safety and well-being of everyone in our community.
