Below are some highlights from the regular Municipality of North Grenville Council Meeting held on Monday, December 14, 2015.
Canada Day Committee: Council formally established a Canada Day Committee that is tasked with planning and implementing Canada Day activities within North Grenville to celebrate national and local civic pride, culture and community. The Municipality will issue a call for volunteers for the Committee in early January – check the website for details.
2015 Accessibility Plan: Council approved the 2015 Accessibility Plan based on a recommendation from the Accessibility Advisory Committee. The 2015 Plan will be available on the Municipal website and at the Municipal office.
Support for Sens Foundation Outdoor Rink: Council passed a resolution in support of the Southgate Community Church’s efforts to secure an Ottawa Senators Foundation Outdoor Rink grant to improve the existing outdoor rink on their property.
Licensing & Regulation of Door-to-Door Sales: Council approved a by-law that updates existing regulations and license requirement to include door-to-door sales. The by-law requires that all door-to-door sales people obtain a license from the Municipality and carry the license with them while working, as well as sets out the requirements for obtaining the licence. 2016 Budget Meetings: All budget meetings have been postponed until further notice.
