Announcement of the Passing of Retired Fire Chief Tim Bond

Following a year-long battle with cancer, retired Fire Chief Timothy (Tim) Bond of the Kemptville Fire Department passed away on Monday, September 26th at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus.

Retired Chief Bond first became a volunteer firefighter with the Kemptville Fire Department in 1972. In 1977, Tim was promoted to the position of Captain and held that position until promoted to Fire Chief in 1991. Tim retired from the fire service in 2012.

Retired Chief Bond exemplified the commitment, dedication, and passion required toserve and protect the residents of North Grenville (Kemptville) for 40 years. He’ll be deeply missed” stated North Grenville Mayor David Gordon.

The Celebration of Life for Timothy Bond will be held on Monday, October 3rd. Details regarding the Celebration of Life will be communicated via Media Release, Social Media and on our website at as soon as they become available.

Please be aware that there will be limited access to the Municipal Centre and regular municipal services may be impacted on Monday October 3rd as a result of the Celebration of Life for Retired Fire Chief Timothy Bond.

Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs Fire Service Funeral Guidelines instruct Fire Department Station Flags are to be lowered to half-mast in the event of a death of; any retired member the flag shall be lowered on the date of the funeral only. The North Grenville Fire Station flags will be lowered on the date of the funeral to honour Retired Fire Chief Timothy Bond.
