Public Meeting for Proposed Expansion of the Community Improvement Program (CIP) into Old Town Kemptville

The Municipality of North Grenville implemented a Community Improvement Program (CIP) in 2014 within the Rideau-Sanders Triangle. Council approved $100,000 over five years with funding of $20,000 per year.

Now in its third year, the program continues to be incredibly successful and has assisted a variety of property owners and businesses with property improvement projects and has generated substantial private investment. For every Municipal dollar invested in the program, two dollars has been invested by the private sector.

The Old Town Kemptville BIA has asked the Municipality for consideration to expand the Community Improvement Program into Old Town Kemptville.

Council has directed Municipal staff to initiate the process of developing the business case for expansion of the Community Improvement Program into the Business Improvement Area of Old Town Kemptville for consideration in the 2017 budget process.

The Municipality will be hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the North Grenville Public Library, Norenberg Building, 1 Water Street, Kemptville to provide information on the current program and a proposal to expand the CIP into Old Town Kemptville.

The community is invited to come out and learn more about the program and proposed expansion, ask questions and provide comments.
