Council Meeting Highlights from Monday, November 27, 2017

Below are some highlights from the regular Municipality of North Grenville Council Meeting held on Monday, November 27, 2017:

Kemptville Campus: Mayor Gordon made a statement responding to information in the North Grenville Times newspaper. The statement advised that the Province has negotiated exclusively with the Municipality regarding the acquisition of Kemptville Campus and advising that the Municipality welcomed any and all expressions of interest to partner in developing the Campus as an education and community hub if the acquisition was successful. Dedication of Veterans Way: Council approved dedicating Veterans Way in the memory of the late Owen Fitz’Gerald who was a strong supporter of the Ferguson Forest Centre and was instrumental in having the road into the Centre named Veterans Way.  A special event will be planned to formally dedicate the roadway in the future.

New Water & Sewer Rates: Council approved a new by-law to regulate the Municipal water supply system, water meter and sewer services.  The by-law also establishes new rates for water and sewer services that will come into effect on December 1, 2017.  The complete by-law is available on the Municipal website.
