North Grenville residents are invited to participate in a discussion before the Municipality releases its Request For Proposal to request consultants submit proposals to determine the feasibility of a Heritage Conservation District.
Date: Tuesday, August 9th, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Location: Burritts Rapids Community Hall (23 Grenville Street, Burritts Rapids, ON)
Previously, The Municipality of North Grenville retained WSP, a consulting firm, to develop a Conceptual Design Plan for the historic hamlet of Burritts Rapids to address municipal operations and infrastructure improvements desired within the community, such as drainage, road-way cross-section widths and space designation, parking, and connectivity, with consideration for the community’s heritage.
One of the recommendations from WSP’s work was to explore the viability of establishing a Heritage Conservation District within the village which would justify uncommon design criteria for road widths.
North Grenville has drafted a Request For Proposal which is planned to be released shortly to solicit proposals from professionals to explore the feasibility of implementing a Heritage Conservation District within the hamlet. Prior to finalizing the document, the Municipality desires to have a discussion with the community.
The discussion will include:
- Provision of a copy of the draft RFP for review by community members
- A brief presentation on the structure, phasing and wording of the draft RFP by municipal staff
- A Question and Answer period with Municipal Staff
- The draft RFP can be accessed ahead of time:
