Mobility Master Plan

NG MMP web
Growing together. Moving together.

The Municipality of North Grenville is updating the 2019 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) and the 2019 Commuter Cycling Plan, while developing an Active Transportation Plan (ATP).

The TMP Update and ATP, collectively known as the Mobility Master Plan (MMP), will direct the Municipality’s policies and infrastructure investments to support current and projected population growth with an increased focus on sustainability and active transportation solutions.

The goal of the MMP is to ensure present and future needs are met by applying an accessible, equitable, environmentally, and economically responsible lens to planning and implementation. This plan will work to ensure all users can be safely and efficiently accommodated, as the community grows and moves together.

In 2019, the Municipality of North Grenville developed and adopted a Transportation Master Plan and a Commuter Cycling Plan to guide investment across all modes of transportation to accommodate the future travel needs from population growth. Since that time, the Municipality has successfully implemented the following transportation related initiatives:

  • Wellington Road – Westerra Way to Bridge Street South – Road Upgrades
Road-realignment, upgraded surface, upgraded cross section, and the addition of a sidewalk on the west side.
  • County Road 43 – County Road 44 to Highway 416 – Road Widen (Ongoing)
Reconstruct the corridor to a four-lane divided concept with intersection improvements (roundabouts), multi-use pathways, streetscaping and designated pedestrian crossings.
  • County Road 44 – River Road to Settler’s Trail – New Multi-Use Pathway
Provided an in-boulevard multi-use pathway on CR 44 to provide a separated four-season spine route that is comfortable for all users and connects the eQuinelle community with Kemptville.
  • Riverside Park AT Connection – Maric Trail to Reuben Crescent – Formalize Active Transportation Connection
Installed an asphalt multi-use pathway around the perimeter of Riverside park, to enhance access to amenities.
  • Concession Road – Empress Drive to Hurd Street – New Multi-Use Pathway
Extended the existing Concession Road in-boulevard multi-use pathway to provide an active transportation connection between the River Run community and Kemptville.
  • River Road – County Road 23 to Actons Corners Road – Paved Shoulders
Provided paved shoulders on River Road to connect Burritts Rapids to CR 44 and Kemptville.

A Mobility Master Plan (MMP) is a long-term plan that will help guide the development and expansion of the Municipality of North Grenville’s transportation system for the next 20 years and beyond. The MMP will set strategies and policies that support planned growth and align with the community’s transportation vision. It will also identify infrastructure projects to support travel throughout North Grenville - whether by cycling, driving, walking, or other modes of transportation.

All information will be collected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (2009). With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record.
