NORTH GRENVILLE, ON – Mayor Nancy Peckford issued the following statement for National Indigenous History Month:
National Indigenous History Month is recognized annually across Canada for the month of June.
North Grenville – The Municipality of North Grenville is celebrating Pride during the month of June. In 2020, Council declared in perpetuity, the month of June as 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride Month for the Municipality of North Grenville and will fly the Pride Flag at the Municipal Centre.

Mayor Nancy Peckford and Deputy Mayor John Barclay offered the following Statement on the Police Officer Killed in the Line of Duty:
In the early morning of May 11, 2023, OPP Sgt. Eric Mueller was killed in the line of duty after a shooting in the Municipality of Clarence-Rockland. Two other officers were also shot and are recovering in hospital.
Public Notice: Municipal flags have been lowered to half-mast in honour of the Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty after a shooting in the Municipality of Clarence-Rockland in the early morning of May 11, 2023.
Mayor Nancy Peckford, Council and the Municipality of North Grenville offer condolences to officer’s family, friends, colleagues and fellow officers during this difficult time. We are also wishing a fast and full recovery to the other officers on scene who were injured.
NORTH GRENVILLE – With the warmer weather, drivers are no doubt seeing more bicycles and motorcycles on the roadways. The North Grenville Police Services Board is encouraging drivers and cyclists to share the road, and to be courteous and respectful of one another.

On May 6, 2023, communities throughout the Commonwealth will mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and her Majesty The Queen. This historic occasion will mark the first coronation of a Canadian Head of State in seven decades.
