To qualify, a property must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be classified as commercial or shopping centre (either entirely or in part).
• Be fronting on County Road 43.
• Be located within the defined construction zone, which extends from County Road 19 west to 200 metres past the Highway 44 intersection. (See Map)
• Be in good standing with the Municipality (i.e. no outstanding taxes, compliance or property standards orders).

If the property is sold prior to December 18, 2026, the full deferred amount becomes due upon closing unless the new owner agrees to assume the deferral.

Optional Early Payment: Property owners may choose to pay the deferred amount at any time prior to the due date.

No interest or late payment penalties will be applied to the deferred portion during the deferral period.
Education and any unapproved taxes, remain payable and will be subject to penalty and interest charges in the event of non-payment. 

Property owners may apply to defer the Municipal and/or County portion of their 2026 property taxes.

Property owners that are not the sole business operator at an eligible location are expected work collaboratively to provide some form of relief to their tenants as outlined in the program application.
