Your Guide To Kemptville Buskerfest
What Is Kemptville Buskerfest
If you're looking for a unique, family-friendly experience this May long weekend, Kemptville Buskerfest is the perfect way to spend a day outdoors, enjoying live entertainment, local food, and community fun.
Happening Saturday, May 17 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM - with a Friday night kickoff on May 16 - this free event transforms Downtown Kemptville into a vibrant hub of street performers, musicians, food vendors, artists, and interactive activities for all ages. It’s an ideal spring outing for families, visitors, and anyone curious about discovering the heart of North Grenville.
Here's everything you need to know to make the most of your visit!
Plan Your Day
Buskerfest takes place along Prescott Street in Old Town Kemptville, which will be closed to vehicles and full of lively performances and local vendors. The day officially begins at 10:00 AM with an opening ceremony at the community stage, followed by rotating performances scheduled throughout the day.
Expect a mix of acts - from juggling and acrobatics to fire shows, music, comedy, and even science-themed fun. Performances are scheduled back-to-back, so no matter when you arrive, something exciting will be happening.
Midday is often the busiest time, with major performers taking the stage in the afternoon. For example, expect incredible shows from performers like Skye the Guy and Julia Perron, alongside returning family favourite buskers; Rockabilly Joe, Aerial Antics and Bex in Motion.
Depending on weather and ages of your kids, theres a pretty good chance you'll get to see every show, as each performing group will put on three shows staggered throughout the day. The full event schedule can be found further down in this post!

Insider Tips for a Smooth Visit
Bring chairs or a blanket. Performances take place throughout the day along the street and in open spaces - a small foldable chair or picnic blanket can go a long way in keeping everyone comfortable.
Pack essentials. Don’t forget sunscreen, hats, refillable water bottles (there’s a water station on site), and extra clothes for little ones if they’ll be using the splash pad.
Arrive early. For best seating and parking, plan to arrive close to opening time - especially if you want to catch the headlining acts.
Parking & Shuttle: Downtown parking is limited, so take advantage of free parking at the Municipal Centre (285 County Rd 44) and hop on the complimentary shuttle to the festival area. A small paid parking lot can be found at the intersection of Clothier St & Prescott St at the festival, more free parking is available at the nearby high school and enjoy a short walk in.
Bring cash. While many vendors and buskers are equipped for cards, cash is still helpful - especially for tipping performers or buying small items from artisan booths.
Support local. Be sure to explore the downtown shops and grab lunch from one of the nearby cafés or food trucks. It’s a great way to support local businesses while enjoying the event.
