Clean water Works Inc. has been contracted by the Municipality to complete the rehabilitation of sanitary sewers through the use of Cured-In-Place Piping (CIPP), which is a no-dig method of sewer pipe repair. Starting the week of December 1, crews will inspect and clean sewers using high-pressure flushing.
Most homes won’t notice any impact, but some noise or odor is possible. As a precaution, please keep toilet lids closed, flush after each use, and pour about 2 litres of water into any drains you don’t use often - before and after the work - to help prevent smells.
Once inspections are done, CIPP repairs will be scheduled. If your home is affected, you’ll get 48 hours’ notice. See map of areas being inspected below. Repairs will take place throughout December starting December 10, with no work from December 24–26. Each repair takes 4–10 hours, and during that time the sewer line will be plugged. Affected homes will be asked to limit water use to avoid backups.
