On behalf of North Grenville Council, I want to extend our deepest thanks to the dedicated members of the Ontario Provincial Police East Region, North Grenville Detachment, including uniformed officers, 911 dispatchers, and civilian support staff for their commitment to public safety in our community.
National Police Week is an opportunity to recognize the essential work our policing partners do every day to protect and support residents, families, and local businesses. This year’s national theme, “Committed to Serve Together,” and Ontario’s provincial theme, “Protecting Ontario,” reflect the collaborative spirit and dedication at the heart of effective policing. These messages are especially meaningful as we acknowledge the professionalism, integrity, and care demonstrated by those who serve North Grenville.
This week also coincides with International Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15, when we honour the courage of those who have given their lives in the line of duty.
We are incredibly grateful for the tireless work of our local OPP officers and support staff. Their presence in our schools, neighbourhoods, and on our roads ensures that North Grenville remains a safe and welcoming community for all. National Police Week is a meaningful time to acknowledge their role in fostering trust, well-being, and safety for residents of all ages.
Council joins our residents in thanking all those who serve in law enforcement and public safety. Your efforts make a lasting difference every day.
