NORTH GRENVILLE, ON - Mayor Nancy Peckford and North Grenville’s Council will be hosting an important Ukrainian delegation at the July 12 Council meeting.
As such, the Ukrainian flag will fly at the Municipal Centre on July 12, 2023.
First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, Roman Strashevskyi and Ukrainian Canadian Congress National Outreach Director Mariana Savka, as well as Volodymyr (Walter) Palagniuk, Legislative Assistant of Larry Brock, MP for Brantford-Brant will be in attendance to share information on the proposed Ukrainian Municipality Twinning Agreement.
The focus of the delegation is to invite the Municipality of North Grenville to twin with the City of Sokal, Ukraine.
“The Municipality of North Grenville continues to stand with the people of Ukraine as we mark over 500 days of this horrible conflict and unprovoked war against this sovereign nation,” highlighted Mayor Nancy Peckford.
“We look forward to welcoming Ukrainian representatives from the Embassy and Ukrainian National Congress as we learn more about the opportunity to twin with Sokal, Ukraine,” added Mayor Peckford.
The delegation, along with members of the Ukrainian community and others will join Council for a short reception ahead of the Council meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m.
