North Grenville is a growing municipality located in eastern Ontario housing a unique blend of small town and rural culture. Comprised of an urban center (Kemptville) and surrounded by several charming rural hamlets, North Grenville is situated between Canada’s National Capital – Ottawa and the St. Lawrence River, only a 30-minute drive along the Veterans Memorial Highway (416), to either destination.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform plan examination, receive complete permit applications, issue building permits and answer general inquiries.
- Review drawings and specifications for code compliance.
- Receive, research and respond to inquiries re: Ontario Building Code requirements, interpretation and application.
- Provide technical assistance to Building Division staff.
- Establish and maintain approved building permit documents for Corporation.
- Respond to inquiries re: Ontario Building Code and referenced documents, by-laws, permits, etc. as requested by Members of Council, other city departments and members of the public.
- Responsible for accurate data entry and file maintenance for building permits.
- Verification of structural drawings for small buildings.
- Carry out inspections and enforce occupancy standards for new structures, additions, renovations, and demolitions, in accordance with provincial legislation and municipal requirements.
- Prepare and issue non-compliance and infraction notifications, and orders of compliance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Assets (preferred) Qualifications:
- Membership with Ontario Building Official Association (OBOA)
- Large Building (Part 3)
Compensation:
- The salary for this position currently ranges from $35.65 to $44.55/hour based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week. May include after office hours including evenings and/or weekends, as necessary.
