Comprised of an urban centre (Kemptville) and surrounded by several charming rural hamlets, North Grenville is situated between Canada’s National Capital - Ottawa and the St. Lawrence River, only a 30-minute drive along the Veterans Memorial Highway (416), to either destination.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Strategy, the Strategic Initiatives Coordinator will perform specialized administrative and technical work related to the implementation of the Municipality’s strategic initiatives. Part of the role will be assisting in the preparation of reports, tracking and communicating data, and communicating with various internal and external groups
This position will:
- Provide project management for the development, implementation, and oversight of initiatives such as Communities in Bloom, Downtown Kemptville Community Improvement Plan, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Fund, Transit, and other initiatives depending on annual priorities
- Plan stakeholder meetings and public engagement sessions for various initiatives
- Collect regular updates from the Senior Leadership Team about strategic plan activities and record information within the reporting tool
- Support the strategic planning process by scheduling meetings, organizing agendas and compiling action items for senior leadership
- Inputs strategic plan updates and performance measures into reporting tools and establishes processes to regularly compile and report on data and outcomes
- In conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team and Director, identify and develop performance measures and metrics to evaluate and monitor effectiveness of projects/programs
- Assist departments in collecting, organizing, and displaying data, including setting up dashboards and supporting monthly data reviews
- Support the Director to prepare reports, briefing notes, background materials and presentations on a wide range of programs and special projects including reports to Council
- Communicate and liaise with stakeholders and work to ensure input and representation from key stakeholders is obtained and maintained
- Perform research for the Director of Corporate Strategy on a range of unique and non-standard issues that require independent judgement
- Participate in internal and external committees, working groups, task forces and special projects as required
- Assist in the procurement process, including drafting RFPs and coordinating with consultants, under the direction of the Director
- Prepare external and internal communications in consultation with the Communications Division
- Respond to inquiries from the public, agencies, and/or partners in a professional and efficient manner regarding strategic initiatives
- Ensure and maintain confidentiality, as required
- Perform other duties relevant to the position as assigned
Education/Specialized Training/Skills:
Essential (minimum) Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary diploma or degree in Office Administration, Business Administration or related field required.
Work Experience:
Essential (minimum) Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience in business administration, public sector or related field. Experience in local government is considered an asset
- Minimum three (3) years’ strategic planning and project management experience
- Experience in strategic communications, facilitation or community development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present and negotiate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and productively within an organization and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to be adaptable, flexible and resourceful, leveraging established processes, procedures, precedents, and instructions
- Strong time and project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage projects and project teams to meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work autonomously, as well as within a team environment
- Proven ability in providing a high-quality customer service
- Valid and unrestricted Class “G” driver’s license with access to reliable transportation and be able to travel to various work locations across the Municipality
Working Conditions:
- Based on a 35-hour work week
- Works in a standard office environment. Ability to sit or stand, often in front of a computer monitor, for long periods of time
- Some travel involved outside of the Municipality for meetings, conferences and training as required
Compensation:
- The salary range for this position is $37.52/hour - $46.89/hour
