North Grenville is a growing municipality located in eastern Ontario housing a unique blend of small-town and rural culture. Comprised of an urban center (Kemptville) and surrounded by several charming rural hamlets, North Grenville is situated between Canada’s National Capital – Ottawa and the St. Lawrence River, only a 30-minute drive along the Veterans Memorial Highway (416), to either destination. Alternatively, for a more leisure journey, North Grenville offers the historic Rideau River managed by Parks Canada.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Facilities Lead Hand, the Skate Patrol will supervise participants ensuring a safe environment during public skating events while following facility rules of conduct.
Qualifications:
• Secondary School student (or graduate)
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (required)
• Demonstrated Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge and/or experience playing and refereeing hockey (asset)
Position Description:
• Create an enjoyable, and safe environment for all program participants.
• Deliver excellent customer service to all facility users, maintain a positive image of the Municipality
• Supervise on-ice activities, ensuring participants follow safety protocols and program rules. Proactively address unsafe behaviors such as speeding, skating backward, or disruptive conduct.
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies
• Work in compliance with all Workplace Health and Safety legislation in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Municipality of North Grenville Human Resources Policies and Procedures
• Other duties are required
Working Conditions
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Evening and weekend shifts
• Attend meetings and training as required
• Exposure to cold and noise
Compensation:
The salary for this position starts at $17.20 per hour.
