North Grenville Launches Fund to Support Local Mental Health Initiatives

North Grenville, ON – The Municipality of North Grenville is proud to announce the launch of the Mental Health Initiatives Fund (MHIF), a new funding program designed to support local organizations and empower grassroots mental health initiatives across the community.

Mental health is the foundation of both personal and community well-being. Through the MHIF, the Municipality is supporting local solutions that break down stigma, expand access to mental health support, and foster lasting wellness for all.

“Mental health challenges can affect all of us – whether personally, or through family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. We know that often the best solutions start here in our neighbourhoods and communities,” says Mayor Nancy Peckford.

“Over the past few years, this Council has worked hard to prioritize mental health by enhancing youth programming and supporting crisis response partnerships with local service providers. This fund builds on that commitment by empowering community-driven solutions and helping residents access the support they need, when and where they need it most.”

The MHIF supports projects that:

  • Break down barriers to mental health services and improve system navigation
  • Increase mental health literacy and everyday coping skills
  • Promote positive mental health and well-being
  • Reduce stigma and foster inclusive, supportive environments

Grants range from $500 to $3,000 and can cover up to 75 percent of a project’s total cost.

In some cases, the Municipality may also waive facility rental fees to further support local initiatives.

Eligible non-profit, charitable, and community-based organizations serving North Grenville residents are encouraged to apply for funding support prior to the application deadline of June 12, 2025, 5:00 PM (local time)
