NGtransit does not operate on Thursday, December 25th, Friday, December 26th, 2025, nor Thursday, January 1st, 2026.
Solid Waste & Recycling Pick-up
Solid waste, recycling, and organics pick-up is bumped ahead one day from December 25th-27th and January 2nd-3rd. See collection calendar here.
Oxford Mills Waste Transfer Station
The Waste Transfer Station is closed on Friday, December 26, 2025 but open usual hours otherwise (Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).
Building Inspections
The Building Department will close at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, and re-open on Monday, January 5, 2026. If you require inspections on Monday, January 5, 2026, the Building Division will need notice by end of business day, Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
After-Hours Emergency Line
After-hours municipal emergency calls are for urgent issues only - situations that pose an immediate health, safety, or security risk, make roads unsafe, or disrupt essential services. This includes:
- Road obstructions (lane or entire) – trees, snow, ice – road isn’t safely passable
- Watermain breaks (urban areas – municipal services)
- No water (urban areas – municipal services)
- Sewage back-up (urban areas – municipal services)
Facilities, parks, and trail emergencies may also include:
- hazardous icy or snow-covered access routes,
- broken or unsafe playground equipment,
- trail washouts,
- significant vandalism that creates a safety risk
Please do not call after-hours for non-urgent matters such as:
- potholes,
- non-blocking fallen trees,
- missed waste collection,
- dead animals,
- nuisance wildlife,
- brown water,
- rural basement flooding,
- issues requiring 911 (e.g., fires, gas leaks, downed wires, or wellness checks).
North Grenville’s By-Law Services Officers handle dog-at-large and dog-control complaints during weekday hours. The after-hours emergency number is available only for urgent found-dog situations during evenings or weekends. Concerns involving other domestic or wild animals should be directed to the appropriate external contacts listed here on our website.
