North Grenville, ON – The Municipality of North Grenville is currently developing its next five-year strategic plan that will articulate the community’s vision for North Grenville and create a roadmap for how to get there.
Input by local residents and businesses is crucial to this plan. The community survey launched in August has been completed by approximately 1,400 residents and is still available in English and French (see www.northgrenville.ca/vision).
The Municipality is now pleased to host two Town Halls that will be held at Heritage Hall (820 Heritage Drive) at the Kemptville Campus Education and Community Centre:
Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
If you are unable to make it in person, the Town Halls will also be livestreamed on the Municipal YouTube Channel and Facebook page. Anyone watching the livestream will have the opportunity to engage via the comment section.
“Council is thrilled with the responses to the survey up to now. The Town Halls will be an excellent forum to hear from community members in depth on a variety of issues and opportunities for North Grenville,” said Mayor Nancy Peckford.
“Engaging with a diverse range of voices will be critical to developing a plan that improves our quality of life and reflects the needs of North Grenville as we continue to grow as a community,” added Mayor Peckford.
“The goal of the plan is to capture the vision and direction for the Municipality for the coming years – in a way that represents the community’s ideas, experiences, and expectations,” added Deputy Mayor Jim McManaman.
To build a plan that reflects the community’s needs and expectations, it is of utmost importance that community members and leaders have the opportunity to address priority areas. Ensuring that lived experiences and hopes for the future of the Municipality are included are fundamental to the development of the strategic plan.
To date, working with third-party consultant StrategyCorp, the Municipality has made considerable efforts to outreach to a variety of groups and leaders.
Residents, businesses, community groups, and youth can still provide their input to the online survey until September 6, available at www.northgrenville.ca/vision in both English and French.
Hardcopies of the survey are also available at the North Grenville Municipal Centre (285 County Road 44) and North Grenville Public Library (1 Water Street).
