North Grenville, ON – The Municipality of North Grenville is now receiving applications for the Mental Health Initiatives Fund (MHIF). This funding program is designed to help local organizations bring meaningful mental health initiatives and access to mental health training to community members. Mental health is foundational to both personal and community well-being. Through the MHIF, the Municipality is investing in local ideas that help reduce stigma, strengthen community connections, improve access to support services, and foster long-term wellness for residents of all ages.
“Mental health challenges can affect all of us. We know that some of the most meaningful solutions begin right here in our own communities,” says Nancy Peckford.
“Over the past several years, Council has sought to prioritize mental health through enhanced youth programming and partnerships that strengthen local crisis response and support services. This fund builds on that commitment by empowering community-led initiatives and helping residents access support when and where they need it most.”
The MHIF supports projects that:
- Break down barriers to mental health services and improve system navigation
- Increase mental health literacy and everyday coping skills
- Promote positive mental health and well-being
- Reduce stigma and foster inclusive, supportive environments
Grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 are available and may cover up to 75 percent of total project costs.
Eligible non-profit, charitable, and community-based organizations serving North Grenville residents are encouraged to apply before the application deadline of June 5, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
