On Wednesday, August 7, 2019, the Council of the Municipalityof North Grenville will hold a public meeting, pursuant to section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended, to present and obtain public input on the Municipality’s proposed Development Charges (D.C.) By-Law and underlying Background Study.

On January 1, 2019, the Green Energy Act, 2009 was repealed, along with its regulations. Select conservation and energy efficiency initiatives, such as the BPS energy reporting regulation, were moved to the Electricity Act, 1998. O. Reg. 397/11 (Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plans) was replaced by O. Reg. 507/18 (Broader Public Sector: Energy Reporting and Conservation and Demand Management Plans). No changes were made to the regulation when it was replaced.

Sewer construction will impact traffic at the roundabout at County Road 43 & County Road 19.

As part of the 2019 North Grenville Capital Budget, the installation of a concrete sidewalk is planned for Clothier Street West. Work is scheduled to begin during the week of June 24th, 2019.

Given the wholesale change in Council this past fall, and an animated election where diverse community interests spoke unequivocally about their priorities, your new Council concluded, early in our mandate, that the development of a two year Work Plan was imperative to ensuring that we tackled issues and concerns in a coherent and holistic matter.

To that end, over the last several months, Council began meeting with a seasoned strategic planner to discuss the development of an approach to some of the priority themes which dominated the election period, and which Council believes it must deliver on given its mandate of transparency, collaboration and responsiveness.

The North Grenville Police Services Board (PSB) has launched the 2019 Community Survey to gather input from the public to help identify local priorities for the delivery of police services in the Municipality.
